JVC GZ-MG630 Everio

Photobucket
I picked up a new video camera from JB Hi-Fi today.

So ill do a quick review.

The package comes with the video camera, its battery, battery charger, AV lead, USB lead and a remote for the camera.

It also came with a CD which has software on it for editing your video footage. Goose from Goose N Stuffs blog (check him out) said that it didn't come with any software.

Also JB Hi-Fi are running a deal with this camera, you get a free bag and extra battery for it. Saves you spending more for a bag that everyone gets anyway.

I did quite a bit of research before purchasing this product and I’d like to share some with you.

In its price range ($400-$450) although I think retail is $550 and JB Hi-Fi have it on special at$393, it has a slightly larger CCD then it’s competitors, .42 cm rather than .32 cm.

It’s not much but it does make some difference. It only has a 35x zoom but unless you’re going to spy on people 35x is heaps.

The 60 GB HDD is pretty much the same across all its competitors. It also has 800 000 k pixels which governs the still image mega pixel and extra colours and res in the video capture area.

It still photos are not good at only .8 of a mega pixel but really it’s for video not still.

It also looks heaps better then what any of its competitors do, which for girls and Goose from Goose N Stuffs blog :p this is a huge bonus.

I haven’t recorded any video yet, but from videos on YouTube it’s set to be a really good mid ranged camera.
